At BreakForth Foundation, we believe that advocacy shouldn’t just be talked about, it must be lived. This belief is the heartbeat of the BreakForth Clubs Project, our blooming initiative is dedicated to empowering students to stand against Child Marriage, Domestic Abuse, and Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
But how do you take heavy, complex topics such as GBV, Child Marriages or Grooming amongst others and make them comprehendible to teenagers? For us, the answer lies in three simple practices Advocacy, Teaching, & Educating through Games, Stories, and Snacks.
The BreakForth Method: Heart, Head, and Humanity
We don’t just walk into schools and lecture; we build a community. Our school clubs are designed to be “Circles of Protection” where students feel safe to learn, have fun and, more importantly, feel safe to speak.

- Interactions through Stories: We use storytelling to bridge the gap. By sharing relatable narratives, we help students recognize “warning signs” and understand their rights without the fear that often surrounds these topics.
- In-Person Teaching: Our team is on the ground, providing consistent mentorship. This face-to-face connection builds the trust necessary for students to reach out through safe reporting systems for those in immediate distress.
- The Power of Sharing Snacks: It sounds simple, but sharing a snack is where the walls come down. It turns a “lesson” into a “fellowship.” It ensures that the student is learning about their rights and other social issues in a way that not only nourishes their minds but their stomachs too. This is important as this gives some of the less privileged children the chance to eat something and fosters a sense of belonging that is vital for advocacy.
Why the Clubs Project Matters
Child marriage and GBV are not just social issues, they are barriers to education. Through the BreakForth Clubs Project, when a student is empowered to say “no” to an early marriage or “stop” to abuse and violence, they aren’t just saving themselves from trauma, they are reclaiming their right to a life well lived, an education and a future of their own making.
In our current project sites, we are seeing the shift. We are seeing students move from being bystanders to becoming active advocates for their peers.
Looking Ahead: The Shield is Growing
2025 was a year of new beginnings and planting deep roots. While we faced the usual hurdles found in institutional networking and varying levels of bureaucracy, our impact on the ground never wavered. We proved that the BreakForth Clubs Project model works.
As we look toward 2026, our goal is clear: Expansion. We want to bring stories, lessons, and this protection to five new schools.
